123TEE.COM TEESIGNER TUTORIAL
TABLE OF CONTENTS
I. THE BASICS
A general note before we start: 123TEE.COM offers products (t-shirts and other) ranging in price and quality from very affordable to high quality organic products. We suggest that you browse through the various products in the Teesigner to find your "perfect fit" in terms of both price and quality before continuing on to adding designs and/or text.
1. You can click the blue Information-button or the product name to open the Product Description, which contains product information, a sizing chart, and some product pictures.
2. To view/purchase the product in a different color, please click one of the available colors.
3. Select a size and quantity for the specific product. The total price is shown (excl. shipping). Once you press "Put in Cart" you'll get the option to design more products. Note: You need to "Put in Cart" and create more products if you want to order a product in more than one size.
II. SELECTING A PRODUCT
1. Use the scrollbar to view all the products.
2. Or select a specific product category by using the drop-down menu. This is handy to find clothing to a specific gender, such as "Men" or "Women."
3. The selected product should appear in the left half of the Teesigner area. It might load a bit slowly during peak hours, so thank you for being patient.
III. ADDING A DESIGN
1. Select the "Designs" button to enter the Designs-area.
2. Select a design category from the drop-down menu. Once you select any other category than "Bestseller," a second drop-down menu will appear, which narrows the category choices further.
3. All the available designs in the selected category will appear in the right half of the Teesigner area.
IV. EDITING A DESIGN
1. This is the area in which you control which design (if multiple) or design-component you want to edit. You may also press the magnifying glass (upper left corner) to see a close-up of the design, or use either the "rotate" (upper right corner) or "strech" (lower right corner) tools to respectively rotate the design or make it bigger. If you have a multicolor design, selecting the squares with number will allow you to change that color by selecting a new color from the editing area below. The grey square trailing the "edges" of the clothing item is the design-area in which you can add designs and text.
2. The editing design box contains more tools you can use to alter the added design. You can adjust the size of the design by using the scale bar or by entering a number percentage in the box below it (note: each design has a maximum or minimum percentage that can't be exceeded). There is also a rotate bar and similar box for entering a number degree. The first of the following buttons will center the design on the clothing item. The second button will shrink the design and position it on the right side of the chest where logos are usually placed. The next two buttons will either mirror the image around a vertical axis or around a horizontal axis.
In the lower left corner, you'll find a drop-down menu that will allow you to selct the type of print you want to use on your design. There are 5 different types of print, each with unique qualities and colors:
a. Flex Print - slightly shiny surface and smooth to touch, extremely durable, up to 3 different colors per design (if the design supports it)
b. Specialty Flex Print - smooth and glistening surface, extremely durable, 1 color per design
c. Writable Flex Print - same characteristics as Flex Print, in addition the printed surface can be written on as often as you like with a special marker (included)
d. Flock Print - velvety feeling (like a thin layer of plush), extremely durable, up to 3 different colors per design (if the design supports it)
e. Digital Direct - must be used for multi-colored images such as photos and "complex" designs, not as durable as flex print and colors fade quicker
A general note on the different print types: Not all print types are available for all designs. The Flock and Flex print types (a-d) are only available for designs created using vector graphics and uploaded by our skilled designers. If you don't know what vector graphics are, don't worry. What you need to know is that the above explanation for changing print types and colors will only work if a design is adhering to this standard. Digital Direct designs can only be printed "as is seen" without changing colors and rescaling etc.
3. If you want to print on other areas than the front of the item (in the case of t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc), please look for the available options in the top left corner of the Teesigner. Here you can also choose among the available product colors.
V. UPLOADING YOUR OWN DESIGN
1. Press the "Upload Design" button to upload your own design. The design/photo you want to upload should be either the .jpg, .png, or .gif file types. It also needs to have a minimum resolution of at least 200 dpi (400 dpi for buttons) in order for us to print it on an item.
2. Please read the Copyright Declaration and check the "I Understand and Accept the Copyright Declaration" button. Once you have done this, press the "Choose a photo" button that becomes visible. Look through your computer and find the right design/photo. When you select the file and press the "Open" button, the design will be added to the Designs overview under "Own Categories" (just like a regular category). Select the design/photo and put it on the desired item(s).
Please note, however, that not all items are suitable for Digital Direct printing. If your design is barely visible/faded away in the Designs overview, it probably is not suitable for printing on this product. Please select a different product and try again. We are sorry for any inconveniences this may cause, but it is being done to ensure great quality.
VI. ADDING TEXT
1. Adding text should be easy and fairly intuitive. Simply type in your desired text (maximum of 5 lines). Notice the "Select all lines" button, which when pushed will allow you to change the color/style of all the text at the same time (all the lines should be highlighted in black). If you can't fit all the text you want on one line, try resizing it (i.e. make it smaller) by using the resizing tool.
2. In the format area you can select your desired font type from our selection of available fonts, change the size of the font (by using the resizing bar or the box below it), select a font style (bold or italics), and justify your text to either left, right, or center.
Choosing colors, selecting print type, and other editing is the same as for "IV. Editing a design" (see above).
VII. EDITING TEXT
To edit the text, please make sure that the text design is selected on the preview clothing item (in the left area of the Teesigner) and then simply refer to the image and explanations above ("VI. Adding text").
VIII. SHOPPING CART
Once you've selected a size and pressed the "Put in cart" button, you will receive a confirmation message that the item has been added to the cart and the choice to either "Purchase Now" or "Create another Product." Pressing "Purchase Now" will take you to the cart and subsequently the final Check-Out page.
If you have received a coupon code for use in our webshop, please enter it in the box below the products in your cart. The box says "Coupon" and you need to hit "Redeem your coupon" after you type it in. This should automatically deduct any savings from the total amount below.
Check the box that indicates that you have read and accept the terms and conditions, and press "Proceed to purchase" to enter your Address Data and select Payment Method.
IX. ADDRESS DATA
The next page ("Adress Data") asks that you login to your account if you are already a member, or signup to become a member if you haven't previously shopped with 123TEE.COM or Spreadshirt.
After logging in or signing up, you may type in or select your Billing Address and your Delivery Address (if different from your Billing Address). The Delivery Address can be used in combination with our "Gift-wrap" option that can be found at the bottom of the page.
Select your preferred Shipping method before hitting the "Continue to payment method" button in the bottom right corner of the page.
X. PAYMENT METHOD
Select one of our payment methods to finalize the purchase and continue to the "Confirmation" page. We currently accept the following payment methods from US customers:
Major credit cards - AMEX, VISA, MasterCard, Diner's Club, and JCB (may vary from country to country).
Check - Processing of order will not begin until payment has arrived.
PayPal - Transaction will be processed by PayPal, an external financial service provider, and during the check-out process you will be redirected to PayPal and pay with your account there. Your order will be processed once verified by PayPal.
Press the "Check order information" button to proceed to the "Confirmation" page.
XI. CONFIRMATION
Please review your submitted information and make sure that everything is correct and spelled right. Press the "Submit order" button to finalize the order. Now sit back, relax, and wait for your truly unique and personalized item(s) to be delivered to you! Be cool, have fun!
